We've always had some wild weather. That's nature, not climate change. Let's do the basics, like maintain river flow and cross section to minimise the risk of floods, just like we keep our storm water pipes and drains clear at our homes. Time for river engineers to help address historical gravel and silt build up. We have commonsense people within our communities and we should be using their skills. 

Our solution for farming is recognise that carbon moves in a cycle. Animals cannot release more carbon than they eat from grass and other feed- mostly grown by local farmers. Photosynthesis uses CO2 in the air plus the sun's energy to grow grass and other food. "Nature is very clever" says Sue Grey who has degrees in biochemisrry and Microbiology as well as law.

"Ive never understood why the government signed NZ up to the Paris Accord" says Sue. "We should celebrate carbon, not fear it, and focus on creating healthy carbon rich soils, and reducing expensive toxic chemicals. Healthy carbon rich soils, grow healthy food crops.'

It will be expensive to exit Paris, but far more expensive to stay and pay their taxes. Much better to shift focus to what is best for our community, our food security and our future.
Get a local representative in who won't be controlled by the party machine. Let's get out of Paris accord and work for solutions to mitigate weather risks. Estimated Price Tag: Treasury reports and independent analyses estimate that acquiring the necessary international credits to meet the 2030 target could cost taxpayers between $2.8 billion and $5 billion in total, depending on global carbon prices and the final volume of emissions shortfalls.

Provide farmer education for growing soils and crops using no, or a minimum, of synthetic inputs. 
Education, research and development of  Ecological Agriculture demonstrating and supporting alternatives to chemical agriculture.
Support farming practise that produces safe nourishing foods rich in minerals, builds soil structure and sequesters carbon.
Support farmers to introduce old/new ways of farming – silviculture, alley cropping, agro-forestry,
Support farmers to introduce crops such as sainfoin and comfrey into ruminant grazing systems and nutrient management plans

We will establish a truly independent health-environment protection agency – H.E.P.A – to replace the EPA.

New Technology & Product introduction based on Precautionary principal – with full liability & indemnity for the business introducing that technology.

Re establish independent specialised bio security at every trade entry point.

Establish our own NZ food and agricultural substances

Withdraw from the TPPA as soon as it comes up for renegotiation and negotiate fair trade agreements with single nation states.
Increase trade with our Pacific Island neighbours.
Withdraw NZ from RCEP and Farming 2050.
Strengthen anti monopoly and anti trust law to protect local trade
Place a moratorium on sales to non permanent tax residents of farmland, forestry, housing, infrastructure and property.
We will withdraw from any agreement in which NZ loses the ability to write her own laws and legislate for the public good
